Cyril is now facing a murder charge  before Ebute-Metta Magisytrate’s Court in Lagos.

The cause of the fight was not yet clear, we gathered that  the late Olaide and Cyril were well known friends in the area.

On the day the incident happened at about 4pm, Cyril and Olaide had a heated argument which later resulted in a fight.

After Cyril strangled Olaide, the victim was taken to a hospital where a doctor certified him dead. He was arrested by the police at Ogba division. The police transfered the matter to SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for investigation after which Cyril was charged to court under the Criminal Code.

His plea was not taken, rather the court ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody and his file duplicated for DPP’s advice.
