The meeting was officially communicated to the public on Tuesday through a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan. The statement confirmed that Governor Aiyedatiwa hosted Professor Taiwo Oyedele, the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Honourable Minister of Interior; and Mr. Ayodele Olawande, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development. These three ministers are key political figures from Ondo State currently serving in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
According to Adeniyan, the discussions were a vital component of the preparatory activities for the Ondo State Presidential Campaign rally, which is scheduled to hold on November 11, 2026, in Akure.
Building the 228-Member Campaign Council
This Abuja meeting follows the recent establishment of a substantial 228-member Presidential Campaign Council by the Ondo State chapter of the APC. The council has been mandated with coordinating the party’s campaign activities, mobilizing grassroots support throughout the state, and driving engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Leadership Structure for Success
The newly inaugurated campaign council features a robust leadership team designed to maximize its effectiveness. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will serve as the chairman, providing overall strategic direction. He is supported by Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, who holds the position of Vice Chairman I.
