The ongoing All Progressives Congress Senate primary election for Delta North has generated massive reactions online after a viral video appeared to show Ifeanyi Okowa recording an overwhelming lead over Ned Nwoko during a physical headcount of supporters.
In the video making rounds on social media, an official supervising the primary exercise was seen counting party members and supporters standing behind both aspirants.
Based on the figures announced during the process, Okowa allegedly received support from 6,922 attendees, while Nwoko reportedly had only three supporters standing behind him.
The huge difference in the reported support figures quickly sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users expressing shock over the outcome shown in the video.
The APC primary election for the Delta North senatorial ticket is still ongoing, and party officials have not yet released an official statement confirming the final result of the contest.
As of the time of reporting, neither Ifeanyi Okowa nor Ned Nwoko has publicly reacted to the viral footage.
