The Federal Government has sent armed soldiers and mobile police officers to help clear the traffic jam on the Abuja-Keffi road.
The gridlock, which began as early as 5 a.m. today, Thursday, has persisted with no end in sight.
However, upon arrival, the soldiers assisting officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps successfully stopped driving against traffic.
Private and government vehicles traveling one way are now being turned around as part of the solution to the traffic jam.
At the moment, vehicles traveling from Abuja to other parts of Benue have also come to a halt due to those driving against traffic.
Heavy vehicles, including trailers, have also been removed from the road.
A DAILY POST correspondent observed soldiers and mobile policemen using minimal force to discipline obstinate passenger vehicle drivers.
