Nollywood actor and activist, Stanley Ajemba, widely known as Stanley Ontop, has publicly chastised actress Regina Daniels following reports of her alleged reconciliation with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. The development comes nearly a year after a contentious separation marked by claims of maltreatment and domestic abuse.
The recent surge of reconciliation rumors was ignited by a video circulating online, which showed Regina Daniels at Ned Nwoko’s residence. This footage triggered widespread disappointment among many Nigerians and even fellow celebrities who had previously rallied behind her during her marital crisis.
Sister Debunks Claims, Ontop Stands Firm
In response to the viral video, Regina Daniels’ sister, Destiny Daniels, took to Instagram to refute the reconciliation claims, stating that Regina was merely visiting her children. However, this explanation has done little to quell the controversy or pacify Stanley Ontop.
Stanley Ontop, who initially gained prominence for sharing a distressing video of Regina Daniels during her alleged abuse by the senator, has now voiced profound disappointment in the actress. Speaking amid the swirling controversy in a series of Instagram videos on Sunday, Ontop expressed his anger and betrayal, particularly highlighting the personal risks he took to support Daniels.
A Betrayed Activist’s Outcry
Recalling his significant involvement, Ontop narrated how he narrowly escaped arrest by Senator Nwoko’s team for his vocal support of Regina and her family during their dispute. He vehemently asserted his belief that Regina Daniels had, in fact, reconciled with Ned Nwoko, whom he consistently referred to as an ‘oppressor’.
“Hey guys, I know that you people have been waiting for my video to come and explain what happened… Here is my own story because I was very very angry,” Ontop stated in his video. He continued, explaining the backlash he now faces from fellow activists he had brought into the matter: “All the activists I brought into this matter to support Regina are angry with me now because I gave them my words that she’s not going back to that house.”
Ontop recounted his personal ordeal: “I almost went to prison because of this case. I was the one that posted the video of where they were harassing Regina at Ned’s house. I was almost arrested because they were looking for me.” He challenged Daniels’ sister’s claims directly, asking, “Now, let’s say you didn’t go there to stay, let’s agree that you went there to see your children, and you were that relaxed? Why was I not aware about your visit to your kids?”
Emphasizing his emotional investment, Ontop revealed, “I couldn’t sleep last night, I cried. See person wey I dey support. Now Nigerians are dragging you, they are dragging me.” He concluded his impassioned address with a firm declaration: “You didn’t go there to see your children. You don settle with Ned. There’s nothing you will tell me that I will believe. This is nonsense… Now, you went to settle with your oppressor. I’m making this video so that everybody will know that I’m not aware, I don’t give consent.”
A Vow to Disengage
The actor’s emotional outburst culminated in a vow never to intervene in any marital crisis again, citing his bitter experience with Daniels’ situation. This public outcry adds another dramatic layer to a saga that previously saw Ned Nwoko publicly declare, nine months ago, that he would never take the actress back as his wife.
