Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his commitment to strengthening collaboration with France in key sectors such as agriculture, public transportation, and infrastructure development.
He made this commitment on Wednesday during a courtesy visit from the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Marc Fonbaustier, at the Lagos House in Marina.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the longstanding relationship between Lagos and France, expressing his eagerness to deepen bilateral cooperation.
“Over the past six years, we have maintained a productive partnership with the French Government, Embassy, and Consul-General. Every successive Ambassador has played a role in strengthening these ties, and we look forward to expanding our collaboration under your leadership,” he stated.
The Governor further emphasized Lagos’ strategic importance and ongoing joint efforts in agriculture and both public and water transportation.
“As a subnational entity, Lagos is dedicated to fostering a mutually beneficial relationship with France to drive growth and development across critical sectors,” he added.
In response, Ambassador Fonbaustier praised Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, calling him “a visionary and inspirational leader.” He reaffirmed France’s commitment to advancing its partnership with Lagos through ambitious projects aimed at economic and infrastructural development in the state.
