Football chiefs in Rwanda have reacted to a video of a match where a player scored seconds after performing witchcraft on an opponent’s goalpost.
A strange event occurred during a match between Mukura Victory and Rayon Sports in the Rwandan Premier League, Mukura striker Moussa Camara whose team were 1-0 down rushed to the goal and appear to lean a small object against the post.
The opposing goalkeeper chased Camara away from the goal post before the referee also books him. But just seconds later, Camara pulls his side back with a towering header sparking wild celebrations as the match ended 1-1.
The Rwandan FA has now ruled that any player seen taking part in witchcraft will be fined 100,000 Rwandan Francs – equivalent to around £99. And at the event where a club is been involved they will lose three points and face a fine of 2.9million RWF, about £2,890.
