Nigerian singer Rema has made it clear that he is not open to having children outside of marriage.
The music star also emphasized that he strongly disapproves of promiscuity, describing himself as an intentional and disciplined individual.
Rema recently made history as the first Black African artist to feature on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Speaking about his views on family and fatherhood, he stated:
“I believe in building a strong family and, if possible, creating an empire. I also don’t want fatherhood to happen by accident—I want it to be a deliberate decision. I’m very intentional, and I don’t engage in reckless behavior.”
The singer also discussed his relationship with fellow artists Ayra Starr and South African star Tyla, expressing that they share a close bond.
“Ayra is family, no doubt. Tyla too—we’ve been good friends even before everything took off.”
Meanwhile, American singer and actress Selena Gomez has praised Rema, expressing her admiration for his artistry.
In a conversation with Rolling Stone, Gomez shared her thoughts:
“I am completely impressed with Rema as an artist. His potential is limitless. I was already a fan of ‘Calm Down’ before joining the remix, and what amazes me most is how the song continued to grow even a year after its release.”
