Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has responded to criticism following her appeal for a peaceful nationwide protest. On the first day of the protests against bad governance, Daniels shared a video urging Nigerians to maintain peace.
However, many felt Daniels was not in a position to advise on such matters and warned her against making statements that could lead to backlash on social media.
In a recent Instagram video, Daniels acknowledged her privileged position but emphasized that it doesn’t prevent her from recognizing the need for fair treatment of her domestic staff. She expressed frustration with her critics, arguing that change in Nigeria cannot happen overnight and that she doesn’t need public approval to voice her opinions.
Additionally, she highlighted a video showing protesters in the north waving a Russian flag, noting that the protest was becoming unruly. Her caption read: “I speak as a proud citizen of this Great Country! WE ALL WANT A GREAT NIGERIA 🇳🇬”
Despite her explanation, the video received more criticism in the comments section.
