The Nigeria Police has redeployed the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of Ogida Police Station, Carol Afegbai to allow for a thorough investigation of the shooting to death of a final year student of the University of Benin, Ibrahim Momodu.

Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Folusho Adebanjo, who made this known on Friday in Benin City, said that “it might be too early for anyone to dismiss either the claim of the police or that of the bereaved family.”

His corpse was purportedly buried by the police the following day but following a petition by the deceased’s family to the state governor, comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Momodu’s corpse was exhumed on Thursday and an autopsy carried out to determine the cause and time of his death.
