Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod has made an urgent appeal to emergency response agencies and the Ogun State Government following a severe road accident along the Ibadan-Sagamu Expressway.
In a video shared online, the popular actor expressed distress over the lack of immediate medical assistance for victims involved in the crash around the Shapade axis. Afod stated that he arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred, noting that no ambulance or rescue team had arrived even after roughly 20 minutes.
Urgent Appeal to Rescue Agencies
Describing the scene as critical, Afod pointed out that several injured passengers were lying helpless on the road beside a damaged bus and vehicle. He explained that efforts to reach emergency hotlines yielded no initial response, while passing motorists were hesitant to stop and offer assistance.
The actor appealed directly to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Ogun State Government, and local health workers to dispatch emergency teams without delay, emphasizing that every second matters when saving lives. He also issued a viewer discretion warning, noting that footage recorded at the crash site contained graphic and distressing images.
Traffic Agency Confirms Incident
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency confirmed the occurrence of a serious single-vehicle crash along the corridor. According to an official alert issued by Odutola Babatunde of the agency’s Saapade Unit Command, TRACE officers were dispatched to monitor the scene.
The agency assured commuters that vehicular traffic on the expressway remained unaffected by the crash, adding that further details regarding the cause of the incident and victim conditions would be released following full investigation.
