Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) who left Abuja on Sunday to represent President Muhammadu Buhari at a peace mediation summit on the situation in South Sudan  on Monday served as witness at the signing of a peace deal between warring that nation.

The summit which was convened at the instance of the Inter-Governmental Authority, (IGAD).

IGAD is the regional trade group of 8 African countries from the Horn of Africa, Nile Valley and the Great Lakes.

President Salva Kiir of South Sudan and rebel chief Riek Machar met alongside regional presidents in Ethiopia, under intense diplomatic pressure to sign a deal in the final hours before a Monday deadline ends.
