Minutes after the ex-Governor of the Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was announced as the new Emir of Kano, some residents of Kano metropolis trooped to the streets to register their displeasure on his ascencion to the throne.
Protesters set ablaze tyres at the Kofar Kudu area, near the Emir’s palace , shouting “Ba muso, ba muso’’, meaning, “we don’t want, we don’t want” in apparent reference to the choice of Sanusi by the state government.
