The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called for an “immediate reversal” of the recent increase in petrol pump prices nationwide.

The NLC made this demand in a post on its X page on Tuesday night, stating: “We demand the immediate reversal of the latest increase in the pump price of PMS across the country.”

Earlier that day, the union expressed feelings of betrayal by President Bola Tinubu after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) raised the official price of fuel from N617 to N897 per litre.

NLC President Joe Ajaero highlighted that the agreement to accept the N70,000 minimum wage was based on the assurance that there would be no further fuel price hikes.

Ajaero warned that in the coming days, the Congress will convene to make necessary decisions, which will be announced publicly.
