The report  submitted that  Nigeria, currently contributes heavily to global poverty, growth rates need to rise, but not to a degree that is entirely unimaginable.

It further explained that, the growth rate needs to increase from 2.3 to 3.2 per cent in real term. The report also disclosed that Nigeria will contribute another 61.5 million poor people to the global total.

The World Bank says that more work needs to be done to curb poverty so as to close the gap in the standards of living between those in the bottom 40 per cent and the top 60 per cent of the population around the world.

The report details the World Bank Group’s unbiased goals of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and promoting shared prosperity, measured as income growth of the bottom 40 per cent. GMR 2014/2015 continues to monitor progress on the Millennium Development Goals, which inspired the WBG twin goals.
