The Minister of Agric has released a statement concerning the ban of pomo due to Ebola.

He said, “We need to develop efficient leather industry in Nigeria. But government has not banned the consumption of pomo.”

“I have seen a lot of stories saying that the government has banned pomo. That is not the job of the government.”
“What we are trying to do is to make people to understand that we can make a lot of money through the sales of pomo.”
“We have been importing leather into the country. This is not good for our local leather manufacturing companies.”

The government was criticized by citizens after reports emerged that the consumption of the much loved local delicacy would be banned.
