The Lagos State Police Command has shut down an illegal manufacturing facility used for producing counterfeit alcoholic beverages in the Badagry area of the state. The successful raid followed actionable intelligence provided by alert members of the public.
During the operation conducted at Yafin, Badagry, police officers arrested 48-year-old Anaebo Emeka Hilary, who is suspected of running the illicit setup. The premises have been sealed as investigations continue.
Counterfeit Goods Recovered During the Raid
Law enforcement agents recovered a wide variety of incriminating items from the illegal facility, including:
- Large quantities of adulterated alcoholic drinks
- Empty bottles ready for packaging
- Different brands of counterfeit wine labels
- Various production utensils and mixing equipment
The recovered materials have been transported to the police station for forensic analysis and further investigation.
Police Commissioner Praises Public Cooperation
Reacting to the successful raid, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, praised the operatives for their alertness and swift execution of the operation. He reiterated the commitment of the Command to sustained, intelligence-led policing to rid Lagos of criminal elements.
