The Kwara State governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has performed the groundbreaking of Harmony Hub (Computer Village) in Ilorin, the state capital.

 

At the event, Governor Ahmed said the Computer Village when fully operational would directly employ about six hundred youths in addition with the hundreds of indirect jobs that would be created during the construction process.

The governor noted that the computer village which is estimated to cost 500 million naira would be funded through contractor financing as well as pre-sales or off-taker arrangements.

Governor Ahmed promised that his government would continue to work with the network of investors, and other stakeholders to deepen the supporting infrastructure and ensure that quality standards are maintained across board with a view to accelerating the momentum of the ICT sector in the state.

He also assured that the government would continue to establish platforms for skills and entrepreneurship necessary for productively engaging the youths.

Governor Ahmed encouraged the people of the state to continue to support the present administration in its determination to transform the state into new brand of emerging economic environment attractive to investors.

“Countries around the world are competing to be the next technological innovations and the associated prosperity and Nigeria is not left out.

“The project also announces Kwara as a potential largest technological hub in Nigeria outside Lagos state.’’
