An Abuja Federal High Court has delivered a landmark judgment, sentencing four terrorists to death by hanging for their involvement in the horrific June 5, 2022, attack on Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. The brutal assault claimed the lives of 43 worshipers, shocking the nation and drawing widespread condemnation.
Justice Emeka Nwite, presiding over the case, pronounced the four accused guilty on all nine counts of the charge leveled against them. The convicts, identified as Idris Abdulmalik Omeiza (25), Al Qasim Idris (20), Jamiu Abdulmalik (26), and Abdulhaleem Idris (25), are to be hanged until pronounced dead.
Court Proceedings and Verdict
