A frontline governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has accused a son of the late Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, Muyiwa, of acting the script of some unnamed persons to tarnish his (Omisore) image.

Omisore spoke through his media aide, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, at a press conference he addressed in Osogbo, the state capital on Monday.

The governorship aspirant washed his hands off the death of the late Ige in reaction to a press conference organized by the Osun State Government in conjunction with the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos on Sunday.

Muyiwa, who is the current Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning in Osun State, and one of the officials that addressed the press briefing, had said that those who murdered his father had murdered sleep as his ghost would continue to haunt them.

Ige was assassinated at his Ibadan Bodija residence on December 23, 2001.

But Odeyemi said his boss, who was a deputy governor at the time, knew nothing about those that killed Ige.

Explaining that the relationship between the deceased and his principal was cordial, Odeyemi said that Omisore was not involved in the killing in any way.

Odeyemi said, “It is unfortunate that Muyiwa, who Otunba Omisore paid his fees, is now being used to disparage him.

“Muyiwa is acting the conspiracy theory script handed over to him by some people. Is he doing this because of the position he is holding? The late Chief Bola Ige was a fearless man, who stood for the truth at all times, irrespective of who is affected”.

Responding, Muyiwa said, “A tiger needs not profess its tigeritude. Silence is, however, the best answer for their ilks”.
