Rema has spoken about the challenges he faced after rising to fame at a young age, revealing that he felt taken advantage of during that period.
The singer, who gained recognition after signing with Mavin Records and releasing his debut EP in 2019 at just 19, reflected on his early experiences in the industry.
In his new track Moviestar, a collaboration with Sofiane Pamart, Rema shared personal struggles through his lyrics, including claims that he was exposed to drugs by women during his early years in the spotlight.
He also expressed that many people do not fully understand his emotional struggles because they are unaware of how young he was when he entered the industry.
He sings, “Girls always give me drugs.
My happiness is zipped in their little purse
Friends always make me feel robbed….”
Rema further suggested in the song that stepping away from the industry was difficult after signing his record deal, as expectations from his label focused more on performing and entertaining fans than on his personal well-being.
