JOHANNESBURG – Hundreds have been left homeless by a fire in Hout Bay’s informal settlement.

Cape Town firefighters say the blaze in Imizamo Yethu has now been contained.

No deaths or injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, at least eight people were killed in several other blazes in Cape Town over the past 48-hours.

Nearly 200 people have been displaced by the fires.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Services says there were fires in Elsie’s River, Delft, Mfuleni and Overcome Heights near Muizenberg.
