France Football, the organizers of the Ballon d’Or, are introducing a new rule starting this year.
With just over two weeks until the awards ceremony on October 28, speculation is growing about who will claim the prestigious title.
Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior is a strong favorite to win, ahead of other top contenders like Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and Rodri. Vinicius had a stellar season, helping Los Blancos secure both the LaLiga and Champions League titles.
However, according to *The Athletic* correspondent Mario Cortegana, a significant change is being made this year: the winner of the 2024 Ballon d’Or will no longer be interviewed by France Football before the ceremony, breaking with tradition.
Instead, the winner will only discover their victory when the envelope is opened during the live event.
