Rapper Foxy Brown has sparked speculation after sharing cryptic messages on her Instagram Story, just a day after Jay-Z was accused in a civil lawsuit of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty.
The “Ill Na Na” rapper posted “WOW” and “WAIT” with a shocked face emoji on Tuesday, followed by a single cold face emoji. Though Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, did not explicitly reference Jay-Z or the allegations, the timing of her posts raised eyebrows.
The lawsuit, filed Sunday, accuses Jay-Z of sexual assault and claims Combs facilitated the incident. Both men have vehemently denied the allegations.
Jay-Z issued a strong statement calling the claims baseless and accused Texas attorney Tony Buzbee of attempting to “blackmail” him. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion,” the rapper stated.
Combs, currently in custody for unrelated sex trafficking charges, also denied the allegations, with his legal team labeling them a “shameless publicity [stunt].”
While Foxy Brown did not directly address the allegations, she later explained her Instagram posts, distancing herself from the controversy.
The 46-year-old rapper, who collaborated with Jay-Z on tracks like “I’ll Be,” has publicly defended him in the past. In October, she dismissed claims of signing an NDA about their relationship, stating, “Ain’t a MF alive could stop my story.”
Brown also expressed frustration with attempts to turn her against Jay-Z, writing, “Y’all want me to be anti-Hov so bad. FOH.”
Her recent posts, though cryptic, appear to continue her pattern of standing by her former mentor amidst controversy.
