Former Miss California winner Carrie Prejean Boller has accused U.S. President Donald Trump of abandoning some of his most dedicated supporters after she was dismissed from a religious role connected to the White House over remarks she made about Israel.

Prejean Boller was removed from the Department of Justice’s Religious Liberty Commission after allegedly “hijacking” a hearing held on February 9 that focused on the rise of anti-Semitism.

During the session, she reportedly had heated exchanges with several Jewish participants including rabbis and students who were sharing their experiences of harassment following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, an assault that resulted in about 1,200 deaths.

The 38-year-old, who is married to former National Football League quarterback Kyle Boller, later released an open letter addressed to Trump. In the message, she claimed that individuals around the president were “heretics” who prioritise Israel over the United States.

She also reminded Trump that he had once publicly supported her during a major controversy earlier in her career.

At age 21, she triggered widespread debate during the Miss USA pageant after stating her belief that marriage should be defined as a union between a man and a woman. At the time, Trump who owned the pageant defended her right to express her opinion and allowed her to keep her title despite the backlash.

She wrote, “I have not changed one bit since the day you stood beside me in 2009. That is why it is so shocking to now be removed from a Religious Liberty Commission for doing the very same thing you once defended.”

Prejean Boller also accused Trump’s evangelical spiritual adviser, Paula White, of orchestrating a “witch hunt” against her. According to her, White attempted to stop her from posting on social media about the conflict in Israel and Gaza.

In her letter, she criticised Trump for moving away from what she described as his earlier non-interventionist stance in foreign policy. She noted that she had supported him for two decades but said she now feels distant from the political movement he built.

She wrote, “The MAGA I knew would never allow American troops to die for a foreign government.”

Prejean Boller was referring to the Israel-backed conflict involving Iran, which she said has already claimed the lives of seven U.S. service members in the past two weeks.

She added, “America’s sons and daughters are being sent to the Middle East to be sacrificed at the altar of heresy and false prophecy.”

According to her, she felt compelled to speak out about the war in Gaza because her faith would not allow her to remain silent about human suffering.

She said, “my Christian faith does not allow me to ignore human suffering … while the United States and my tax dollars are paying for it.”

Addressing accusations that she disrupted the hearing, Prejean Boller insisted that she was simply carrying out her role by raising legitimate questions about whether Israel should be open to criticism.

She wrote, “I did exactly what commissioners are supposed to do. I asked questions.”

She also criticised what she sees as a shift in the Make America Great Again movement, suggesting that it has strayed from its original focus.

She wrote, “I thought MAGA was putting America first, not Israel. Today, I struggle to recognize the movement you started. It appears to have been hijacked by a foreign government and religious zealots attempting to fulfill their heretical end times fantasy.”

Prejean Boller ended her message by saying she would continue praying for Trump.

She concluded, “Your eternal legacy is dependent on you entering the Kingdom of heaven, and I sure hope that one day, I will see you there.”
