There are hints that President Bola Tinubu’s list of cabinet members is prepared and awaiting security review at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters.

The names of individuals under consideration for ministerial positions are undergoing the last review at the DSS and the Presidential Strategic Team, according to a source quoted in The Punch.

“They have the list already. Several names have been written against their respective offices. But they just have to find out and do some checks on a few of these names. That’s what is delaying the list. They are being very strategic with this.”

President Tinubu will submit 44 names to the 10th Senate for review and final approval if he chooses to proceed with the appointment of ministers of state.

According to earlier reports, politicians went to President Tinubu’s private house in Ikoyi, Lagos, to compete for cabinet positions, mainly during the Eid-el-Adha holidays when he was in Lagos.

As required by the Nigerian constitution, President Tinubu must reveal his cabinet list by July 28 at the latest.

In accordance with the legislation, the president must present the Senate with a list of his ministerial nominations within the first 60 days after taking office.
