Arsenal began their Premier League season with a hard-earned 2-0 victory over Wolves, thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz.
The Gunners carried forward their strong form from last season, which saw them finish in second place.
After dominating early in the match, Havertz put Mikel Arteta’s side ahead with a goal from a cross by Saka. Despite the early lead, Arsenal faced challenges in securing the win, allowing Wolves some opportunities to make a comeback.
Wolves came close to equalizing when debutant Jorgen Strand Larsen’s header was brilliantly saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. They continued to press in the second half, with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha both missing chances to level the score.
Arsenal took advantage of Wolves’ missed opportunities to extend their lead. Saka scored the second goal, finishing off a pass from Havertz with a powerful shot into the near post, beating Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Raya, named Player of the Match, preserved Arsenal’s clean sheet with a crucial late save from Pablo Sarabia, ensuring the Gunners took all three points.
