Demola Seriki, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, died in the early hours of Thursday, December 15, in Madrid.
On Thursday, the late ambassador’s children signed a notice announcing his tragic death.
Seriki was appointed envoy in January 2021, while also serving as Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
The prominent Lagos politician was said to have died at the age of 63 in Madrid, Spain.
The notice said that he died in Madrid, Spain in the early hours of Thursday surrounded by his family and children.
it is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that we announce the loss of our much-loved and admired patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, His Excellency, Ambassador Demola Seriki, on December 15, 2022.
“He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Madrid, Spain,”
the notice said.

Seriki was born on the 30th of November, 1959.
The late envoy was a politician, teacher, businessman, and government official. He was the Nigerian ambassador to Spain from January 2021 until his death, with concurrent accreditation as Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Seriki previously served as Nigeria’s minister of state for defense, according to The Punch.
