The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to ₦970 per litre for oil marketers.

In a statement on Sunday, Anthony Chiejina, the company’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, described the price reduction as a gesture of gratitude to Nigerians for their steadfast support in achieving the refinery’s goals.

This price adjustment, representing a ₦20 decrease from the previous rate of ₦990 per litre set earlier this month, reflects the refinery’s commitment to easing costs for marketers.

“The reduction also expresses our appreciation to the government for their backing and aligns with initiatives to promote local enterprise for the nation’s benefit,” the statement added.

The refinery assured stakeholders of its dedication to producing high-quality petroleum products with a focus on environmental sustainability. It also pledged to ramp up production to not only meet but exceed domestic fuel demands, addressing concerns about supply shortages.

This price cut offers oil marketers considerable cost savings for petrol sourced from the Lekki-based refinery.
