Corruption: Yola High Court Slams 5 Years Sentence On Former Gov Bala Ngillari

Yola High Court on Monday sentenced former Governor Bala James Ngillari to five ((5) years in prison without option or fine for corruption related case involving the purchase of 25 vehicles without following due process amounting to N167 million.

The presiding judge, Justice Nathan Musa said that Ngilari was fund guilty of 5 count charges brought before it.

He said the contract were awarded to Elyadim Motors Limited without due process from the state Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP) and without ‘certificate of no objection’.

Justice Musa however discharged and acquitted former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Andrew Ibrahim Walye and former Commissioner for Finance Jonathan Lamurde were standing trail along with the former governor.

Musa said eight out of the 25 vehicles were not delivered to the state government.
