Six persons were burnt beyond recognition in a ghastly motor accident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at Km 27, Benin-Ore-Lagos Road.
The accident involved an articulated truck with registration number XB 455 JRT and a Toyota Hiace commuter bus numbered BEN 308 XB.

Two others who were rescued alive from the accident scene sustained severe injuries as they also suffered burns.
The victims of the accident were five men and one woman.
It was reliably gathered that the bus was carrying a national newspaper to Benin and other towns in the southsouth region of Nigeria.
Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ameen Adewale who confirmed the accident, said the bus ran into the trailer and the impact resulted in a fire outbreak which burnt the victims beyond recognition.

He further disclosed that officers and men of the Corps had cleared the obstruction created by the wreckage on the highway and that the corpses were deposited at a hospital in Okada town.
