The Imo State police command yesterday said that it had arrested six suspects who, it however said, have not been linked to the aborted bomb explosion at Living Faith Ministries (better known as Winners Chapel) situated at Owerri, the state capital.

Spokesperson of the police in the state, Andrew Enwerem, pointed out that the five suspects’ nationanality would not be disclosed to the members of the public in other not to thwart their investigation .

Meanwhile, residents of the state have continued to live in panic as most of them now avoid crowded areas.

Most viewing centres, which usually attract high patronage especially as the FIFA World Cup is ongoing, are shut as residents have decided to watch the matches in their homes even when their is power outage.

Also, the state has witnessed the exodus of some northerners who ply their trade in the state, with the most deserted areas as the Onitsha/Owerri road and the ever busy Mbaise road, which have declined in population since the incident occurred.

We gathered that their exodus might not be unconnected with the bomb saga in the state, as they are said to be fleeing in anticipation of a backlash by residents of the state.

The state police command has, however, assured every resident of the state of their safety.
