Popular Nigerian socialite Bobrisky has taken a swipe at the country’s political leaders following the tragic killing of nearly 200 people in Yelwata, Benue State, reportedly by suspected herdsmen.
Reacting via his Instagram Stories, Bobrisky pointed out the irony that lawmakers were quick to hold an emergency meeting last year over his prison sentence—specifically the claim that he wasn’t held in a standard cell—yet have remained completely silent about the devastating massacre in Benue.
He criticized senators and members of the House of Representatives for prioritizing trivial matters over the lives of innocent citizens, calling their actions disgraceful.
In his words:
“Senators and House reps didn’t call an urgent meeting over the killings in Benue… but they could summon one quickly over Bobrisky. Shame! Shame! Shame!”
He added:
“What a disgraceful country.”
