The harrowing footage, which circulated widely across online platforms, triggered intense national outrage and led to swift law enforcement action.
Bobrisky Reacts to the Suspect’s Arrest
Reacting to the development, Bobrisky shared a screenshot of the news on his Instagram story. He did not hold back his anger, calling for the harshest possible legal penalties against the perpetrator to serve as a deterrent to others who abuse children.
Lagos Government Takes Swift Action
The viral video that sparked the initial public fury showed a man repeatedly hitting a toddler on the head and body with what appeared to be a charger cable. Reports indicate the suspect assaulted the defenseless child simply because she struggled with reading.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) revealed that it was alerted to the disturbing footage on September 22, 2026. The agency immediately activated its emergency response protocols to locate the victims and coordinate with law enforcement.
Upon reaching out to the child’s mother, DSVA officials learned that the case had already been reported to the Family Support Unit at the Imota Police Station, alongside a report filed with the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency. The collaborative efforts of these security agencies led to the suspect being apprehended and placed in police custody.
Victims Referred for Medical Treatment
In a statement addressing the incident, the DSVA confirmed that the case has been officially escalated for deeper investigation and prosecution. Furthermore, the agency ensured that the young victim and her mother were immediately referred to a General Hospital to receive urgent medical care and mental health support.
