Ibadan billionaire businessman and philanthropist on Tuesday, died at the age of 69 years.
Our correspondent who visited his Oluwo Nla Basorun Ibadan residence, otherwise known as ‘Aso Rock Villa’ to London said he left Ibadan hale and hearty last Friday with the intention to return back home today (Thursday).
One of the family members, Mrs. Ronke Akinyemi, said: “They said he has been sick for sometime but I didn’t see any reason to say that he has been sick. I noticed he gained weight but I didn’t see any sign and with that weight I just felt if anything was wrong before, he was getting better now.
“I was with him. He threw banters as usual. He ate amala and took a bottle of Coke and he directed that they should go and bring more drinks for people to take. Thereafter, he said he was going to London on Friday but I didn’t know that was the last time I would see him.”
It was reliably gathered from other family members that Arisekola-Alao died in his sleep after he had breakfast and taken some medication.
We learnt that a day before he died, he had visited one of his children who had just bought a house in Paris before he headed back to London.
