Former Al Nassr star Fahad Al-Bishi has publicly called on Cristiano Ronaldo to retire from football, suggesting that the Portuguese forward is now more focused on personal accolades than contributing to the club’s success.
In a conversation with Koora via VN Express, Al-Bishi expressed disappointment with Ronaldo’s recent performances, accusing him of squandering key goal-scoring chances and costing the team valuable points. He emphasized that while Ronaldo has achieved remarkable records, his current form no longer aligns with the high standards he once set.
“Cristiano seems more concerned with his personal stats than Al Nassr’s results,” Al-Bishi stated. “He’s made history, no doubt, but he’s also let the team down in crucial moments. I respect his legacy, but I believe it’s time for him to step away from the game to preserve that legacy.”
He also criticized Ronaldo’s visible frustration toward teammates, suggesting it was inappropriate given his own struggles. “He’s clearly not the player he once was. Age has its effects, and he should acknowledge those limits rather than showing irritation on the pitch.”
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in 2022 following his departure from Manchester United. Despite high expectations, he has yet to secure a major title with the club, with his only trophy so far being the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.
