Atlético Madrid have announced that Ademola Lookman will spend time on the sidelines after picking up an injury.
Lookman suffered the setback during Atlético’s Copa del Rey final loss to Real Sociedad on Sunday night, April 19.
The 28-year-old had given the Colchoneros the lead in the match before being taken off shortly after the hour mark, with Nicolás González replacing him.
The Spanish club did not reveal the specific nature of the injury.
In a statement, Atlético explained that both Lookman and Alexander Sørloth ended the game with physical discomfort.
The statement added that medical tests have advised caution to avoid further injury, and both players will follow individual training programs away from the main squad. Their return will depend on how their conditions improve in the coming days.
The Nigeria international moved to Atlético from Atalanta in January and has contributed seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
