The Abia State chapter of the Obidient Movement has announced plans to organize a massive one-million-man solidarity march on July 19 in celebration of Peter Obi’s 64th birthday.

In a joint statement released by Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili, a movement coordinator, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, the head of media and publicity, the group revealed that the march will take place concurrently across four key locations in Abia State: Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli.

Scheduled to commence at 10 a.m., the event will go beyond street demonstrations, featuring charity visits to orphanages, hospitals, and correctional centres in the state — a reflection of the values and compassionate leadership Peter Obi represents.

Designated meeting points include:

  • Okpara Square, Umuahia
  • Osisioma Flyover, Aba
  • Practising School, Uzuakoli (Bende LGA)
  • Ohafia Central Field (beside Union Bank), Elu Ohafia

The organizers emphasized that Obi’s appeal transcends political, ethnic, and religious boundaries. They described the march as a spontaneous, heartfelt tribute to a man who “has consistently stood for the common people.”

Born on July 19, 1961, Peter Obi rose to prominence during the 2023 presidential election, where he finished a strong third and significantly reshaped the country’s political landscape through what many call the “Obi wave.” The former Anambra State governor gained widespread praise for a campaign anchored on transparency, youth empowerment, and economic transformation.
