Reports from Abia indicate that 16 worshipers at the Young People’s Christian Fellowship in Aba are lying in comatose at a hospital, while a six-year-old has been confirmed dead, after inhaling carbon monoxide fumes from a generator.
Eyewitness say the victims were holding a vigil, Friday night when the incident happened.
Residents of Eziukwu where the worship center is located woke up this morning to find the worshipers unconscious, and intially believed they were all dead.
But after they were all rushed to Austine Grace Hospital as well are Goodness & Mercies hospital in Aba, only the six-year-old was confirmed dead.
The other victims are reportedly being treated for suffocation and are said to be responding to treatment.
