The Zamfara State Government on Friday said it would host the 2014 international Islamic Conference for African Countries.
The conference, known as Daurah, is organised by the International Institute for Islamic Education, Saudi Arabia.
The State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin-Magaji, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau.
Birnin-Magaji said the decision was arrived at a meeting held with the institute in Jedda,Saudi Arabia.
He also said the state government would collaborate with the institute in the development of Shari’a legal system in the state.
The commissioner said the institute had agreed to secure admissions for students from the state in Islamic universities across the world, to study various courses.
He said a delegation from the institute would arrive Zamfara on Dec. 17, to prepare for the programme. (NAN)
