President Bola Tinubu has asserted that his administration is driven by a commitment to tangible national development, declaring that his team did not assume office merely to “occupy space” but to deliver meaningful progress to Nigerians.
Speaking on Wednesday at the commissioning of the newly constructed Akinwumi Ajibola Street which connects key local roads 16, 18, and 19 in the Gaduwa District of Abuja the President emphasized that his administration’s performance is strictly measured by completed projects.
Delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda
Represented at the event by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu stated that the newly completed road network is a clear symbol of the government’s determination to restore access and fulfill its developmental promises.
“Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, we said clearly: we did not come to occupy space. We came to work. Today, that promise is visible on these streets,” the President remarked. “In this government, we measure ourselves by finished work. This street is finished work.”
FCT Experiencing Governance Transformation
The President lauded the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, noting that his leadership has ensured that all districts within the nation’s capital are finally feeling the direct impact of effective governance. Tinubu attributed the successful delivery of the Gaduwa District road projects to a governance model that prioritizes:
- Prompt and consistent project funding.
- Strict adherence to execution timelines.
- High-quality engineering standards, including integrated drainage systems and streetlights.
By ensuring that infrastructure projects are executed rapidly and efficiently, the administration aims to systematically close the infrastructure deficit in Abuja and across the wider federation, fostering economic growth and improving the daily lives of citizens.
