VIO KILLED IN OGUN MULTIPLE ACCIDENT

A personnel of the Ogun State Vehicle Inspection Office, was yesterday crushed to death while another was critically injured following a multiple accident which occurred along the Lagos‑Abeokuta express way in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The accident which involved three vehicles included a DAF truck  with number plate KRD 237 XK which  rammed into  a parked Toyota Matrix car with number plate FKJ 991 AV which afterwards  hit another  truck.

According to reports,  a  team of VIOs  from  Sango‑Ota office were on the expressway  checking particulars of  some cars  before a truck lost control  and crushed one of them to death.

It was gathered that a cement  laden DAF truck appeared from the rear, overtook other vehicles before it hit the Toyota Matrix car and eventually killed the official and injured another official.

When contacted, the Itori Unit Commander of theFederal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Fatai Bakare, who confirmed the incident said six people, all males, were involved in the accident.

Bakare, who attributed the accident to break failure, said the  corpse of the VIO had been deposited at the Itori General Hospital, while the injured was receiving treatment at the same hospital.
