Amid tears the 21 Chibok schoolgirls released on Thursday met same day with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters in Abuja.
Osinbajo and other state officials such as Lawal Daura, director-general of the DSS; Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture; Aisah Alhassan, minister of women affairs; Zaynam Ahmed, minister of state, budget and national planning; and Maryam Uwais, special adviser to the president on social protection plan received the girls who had been detained by Boko Haram militants for well over two years, on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari who is on a state visit to Germany.
