Victor Osimhen etched his name into Galatasaray’s history books despite their 3-2 defeat to Juventus.
The Nigerian striker found the net for Galatasaray’s opening goal at the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday evening, setting a new milestone in the process.
With that strike, Osimhen recorded his 13th goal in European competitions for the Turkish giants, making him the club’s highest-scoring foreign player in European tournaments. He overtook the previous record of 12 goals held by former Czech forward Milan Baroš.
So far this season, the 27-year-old has tallied seven goals and provided two assists in the Champions League. He currently sits joint-fourth on the competition’s top scorers chart alongside Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
