Activist Verydarkman has been released from EFCC custody, five days after his arrest by the anti-corruption agency. Following his release, his legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, shared some key updates regarding the situation.
Adeyanju revealed that no bail conditions were attached to Verydarkman’s release, clarifying that he personally applied for the bail and gave an undertaking to present his client whenever required. However, he also noted that the EFCC is still holding onto Verydarkman’s phone and car.
Despite the incident, Adeyanju expressed his continued respect for EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, and took a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the RATELS movement for their unwavering support.
In a heartfelt message, he praised RATELS for their active role in fighting against oppression and tyranny, calling them true heroes for their protests, online campaigns, and refusal to remain silent.
Addressing critics who claimed Verydarkman’s arrest was merely a distraction, Adeyanju fired back sarcastically, encouraging them to now “go ahead and save Nigeria from Tinubu’s government,” since the distraction is over.
