After receiving harsh online criticism, popular Afrobeats artist Davido withdrew the very contentious music video for his signee, Logos Olori.
After posting a clip from his signee’s song “Jaye Lo,” which was filmed outside a mosque and showed Muslims doing their Salah prayers, Davido received a great deal of negative feedback.
Many people were incensed by this, and they wasted no time in denouncing the artist for what they saw as severe disrespect for their religion.
Ali Nuhu and Ahmad Bashir, two well-known Nigerian entertainers, have been particularly outspoken about this.
Davido ultimately caved to pressure and withdrew the video two days after receiving criticism, despite the singer’s general lack of response and lack of public apologies.
