olicemen attached to the Ogun state Police Command Saturday morning arrested two ladies  and three men for possessing human heads and some pieces of human flesh.

The five suspects were apprehended  in Joju area of Otta in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area  of Ogun State in a joint operation conducted by the a team from Otta Divisional Police Headquarters led by Mr Gabriel Dibie and  the Special Anti Robbery Squad from the Lagos Command.

It was gathered that the police team from Otta  assisted the SARS, Lagos, who got the first hand  information the activities of the suspects at the  Joju area where they  were arrested following  a tip off from the people of the area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the “exhibits recovered from them include one complete human head and pieces of human flesh in a container stained with liquid substance suspected to be human blood.”

Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) said the the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State,  Mr Ikemefuna Okoye,  has given a directive that the case be handed over to SARS Lagos  for discrete investigation since its a follow up to an ongoing investigation with the Lagos men while Ogun Command will complement their effort in the course of its separate investigation.

Okoye also assured Ogun residents that the Police will not condone any act of criminality and inappropriate behaviours within the state as it’s ready to harness all available resources to have robust intelligence- driven policing.
