The PDP national chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has been taunted by both PDP governors and the party National Working Committee, NWC. Among sins alleged to have committed by Tukur are;
1. Holding party /NWC meetings at Tukur’s residence instead of the PDP Secretariat;
2. Running a parallel NWC, leaving Tukur to take decisions on critical party matters with only his aides;
3. Mass defection from the PDP due to lack of confidence in Tukur;
4. Governors, National Assembly members, BOT, NEC unhappy with Tukur;
5. No concrete achievements since Tukur took over in the last two years. He could not even complete the ongoing National Secretariat of the party;
6. Globe-trotting without any result to enhance the electoral fortunes of the party;
7. Lack of access to Tukur sometimes for two weeks.
Tukur is very loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan. But intense pressure is mounting on the president to sack the national chiarman. Will Jonathan give up and sacrifice Tukur?
