Seun was quickly transported to the University Health Centre in an attempt to save his life. However, he was tragically pronounced dead on arrival by the attending medical doctor.

Police Launch Investigation as Campus Mourns

The university administration has confirmed that all items and relevant information recovered from the scene have been handed over to the police to assist with their ongoing investigation. Additionally, the Student Affairs division has been mobilized to offer emotional and welfare support to students affected by the loss.

Expressing his profound grief, the Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased student.

A Call for Mental Health Awareness

In light of this tragedy, Professor Bamire strongly urged the student body to make use of the university’s counseling and support services during times of emotional, academic, or personal distress.

“No student should feel that he or she has to confront overwhelming difficulties alone,” the Vice-Chancellor emphasized, encouraging open communication and collective care within the university community.

The university has also appealed to the public and members of the campus community to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified rumors while law enforcement authorities complete their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.
