Travellers leaving Lagos are going through harrowing experience driving through the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The cause of the traffic gridlock is not yet known but this reporter is making efforts to ascertain the cause of the traffic jam.
Meanwhile, many vehicles leaving Lagos, mostly those going to the Eastern part of the country, are stuck in the traffic . The situation is compounded as there is no alternative routes to avoid the gridlock.
As at the time of filing in this report, no officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, or any other law enforcement agency were available to control the traffic.
Commuters heading toward Ore and beyond were stuck in traffic, Friday. From the Lagos end of the busy Lagos- Ibadan expressway up to Omotosho on the Benin-Ore road in Ondo state had not been a pleasurable ride for travellers due to traffic snares.
Close to Omotosho, on the Benin-Ore road the gridlock looked impassable as both side of the road was blocked.
To worsen the situation vecheles from Benin axis flouted traffic rules leading to complete gridlock.
Many commuters were stranded due to broken down vehicles as a result of over heating and other problems neccesiated by large numbers of vecheles on the road.
